Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon and other dignitaries gathered with more than 1,000 Russian-speaking Jews to open the Limmud FSU New York conference, which featured the first-ever exhibition in the U.S. about Zionist leader Zeev Jabotinsky.
Danon praised Limmud FSU for the impact it has made on more than 35,000 Russian-speaking Jews around the world since launching in 2006. "What Limmud FSU is doing to bring Russian-speaking Jews closer to Israel and the Jewish people is extremely important," Danon said.
Other prominent figures attending Limmud FSU’s opening events included Zeev Jabotinsky, grandson of the late Zionist leader; Dr. Joel Rappel, curator of the Jabotinsky exhibition; Member of Knesset Oded Forer; Member of Knesset Hilik Bar; Collette Avital, chair of the Center of Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel; Izzy Tapoohi, president and CEO of Israel Bonds; and JCS Group LTD President and Limmud FSU Board Member Michal Grayevsky.
